  1. Prep the planting location<\/span>
    <\/span>Make sure that the area is clear of leaf litter and mulch. Dig a hole that is twice as wide and equal to the depth of the shrub\u2019s container.<\/span><\/li>
  2. Prep the root ball<\/span>
    <\/span>Cut or remove any circling roots to facilitate growth.<\/span><\/li>
  3. Plant your shrub<\/span>
    <\/span>The top of the root ball must be flush with the top of the hole. Rotate the shrub to determine the most attractive side. Once positioned, fill the hole with the native soil and pack firmly to ensure that there are no air pockets.<\/span><\/li>
  4. Keep soil moist<\/span>
    <\/span>Water well ensuring that the root ball and the surrounding soil is well saturated. Adding <\/span>mulch will help preserve the moisture.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>
